At this week, we went to London to have independent study, I went with undergraduate bus for attending stitch archive, then I went to the Business Design Center to attend the Surface Design Show, these events inspired me a lot.
The Stitch Archive
This event is organized by an embroidery and knit workshop collected huge amount of textile samples, focusing on education of high-end textiles. On their session, they will let textile designers know how to deveop works, and also introduce how textile designers cooperate with industries by showing them detailed product worksheet.

I was amazed by the 3D effects displayed by these samples. I rarely create an entire piece of textile with more than two layers, because it is too time-consuming, however, if I want to create works that inspire a desire of purchase, spending time to do experiments, then make high-quality pieces will be the right choice.
Surface Design Show
The Surface Design Show is an event that many interior design companies participate and showcase their latest products. At this event, I saw many interesting and innovative designs that caught my attention.
I saw a company has series of wooden carved wall decoration:

Smart glass plates, they are interactive:

Relief wall decoration:

These products gave me inspiration of how a design can be applicated to products. Just to have a think -- with people's creativity, more and more design idea will appear.
