At the lecture given by Lewis Heath, he mentioned about when design a cut pattern, he will use digital tools to help with, so the designed pattern won't be printed and cut physically to do experiments, resources and time saved. This gave me a think: Digital tools for design, especially for highly experimental designs such as pattern cutting, will develop further in the future.
Benefits
I use CAD tools for drawing and designing. As a textile designer, I always use adobe Photoshop and Procreate to draw patterns and make collages based on my inspiration. These digital tools are truly convenient -- the seperation of layers maked it easy to modify drawings and effects, I can create copies of the design for experiments of different versions. Even when I drawing on my iPad with Procreate, I can simply tap the screen with two fingers to undo an action, which will never happen when I draw on papers. To be in one sentence -- these digital tools are so helpful.

Additional Thinking
During the lecture, Lewis also mentioned of the low employment rate to be a pattern cutter who only do pattern cutting -- companies always require more skills, for example, fashion design. So there is never too much for one's skills if want to work for industries.
